…in the Army of the Lord.
Finally, my brethren (and sisters), be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Whether we like it or not. Whether we want to believe it or not. If we are full of God’s Spirit and living by the Word of God, we are in a battle.
Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
We must live this Christian life alert, prepared, aware, on our guard, keeping our armor on, and our eyes on Jesus and His coming.
We must keep oil in our lamps and our lamps trimmed – ready for the Bridegroom to return – at anytime.
We MUST NOT fall asleep. We MUST NOT become content, lukewarm, apathetic, and indifferent.
If we don’t keep the WHOLE armor of God on at all times, we will not be able to withstand the attacks of the devil. If we DO keep the whole armor of God on at all times, we WILL be able to withstand the attacks.
The Armor of God is:
PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
THE WORD OF GOD (Bible)
God has given us this armor; it is invincible and impenetrable!
1 Thessalonians 5:6-10: “Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake [live] or sleep [die], we should live together with Him.
I am a soldier in the army of the Lord. There’s no other place I’d rather be. In the end, we will win! We, God’s blood-bought children, will win the war. We will rule and reign with Jesus Christ. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We will live with Him FOREVER!
