Oahu 2008 – Day 11

Today (actually, Nov. 17th) we woke to this:

A rainy and stormy day.  You know what was so cool about it, though?  It was still warm.  Flip flops and t-shirts would again be our attire.  Love it!  :D

There were still some things we wanted to do before leaving the island, so we headed out.  It was raining cats and dogs!

On the island, when it rains in one place, it’s usually not raining somewhere else.  We took a chance and drove up the mountain to the Pali Lookout.  We got lucky.  No rain!

The Pali Lookout has an awesome view of the windward side of the island.  But, what is really fun about this place is…the wind.  On a “good day”, you want wind – strong wind!  We got lucky again!  It was very, very windy.  It was so much fun!  We laughed so hard as Len’s had blew off and flew 50 yards before a nice man picked it up for us.  We laughed so hard when we felt like we were going to be blown over and had trouble standing up!  It’s the kind of place that you need to experience for yourself.  It was great!

This is the best I could do to take photos of the view.  I couldn’t hold my camera, my hat and my skirt all at the same time!

After that we went to a small mall for a little while.  I saw these little animals called hairless guinea pigs or skinny pigs.  I had never seen them before and I thought they were so cute that I took their photo!

Then we headed home for a relaxing evening.  We listened to the rain as we ate sandwiches I made for dinner.  Ahhhh…this is the life.  :D

I took this photo as I drove.  After doing this several times, and scaring my family, they took the camera away while I was driving.  Hee, hee.

I just wanted you to know that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about your Hawaiian vacation. The photos were awesome and made me wish I was on a similar vacation! My mom & I even talked about your trip during the Thanksgiving holidays. I hope you had a great time and came back relaxed and recharged.

Hi, Kellee! What a wonderful surprise to see you here. :) I’m so glad you stopped by! I’m also glad you have enjoyed our Hawaiian vacation. God bless you!
